College wide Karaoke competition
Xbox 306s to be won each night with a grand prise of a Customised Gibson guitar.

“Songs of Praise” Irelands favourite karaoke night is taking to the road at the end of the month for eight nights for a college based Rock + Roll Karaoke Contests. Our winning formula will be taking place in Dublin’s major colleges and our home the Village, Wexford St.. All leading to a grand final in the newly opened Button Factory.

The SOP Contest will be taking place on Campus and in some of the city’s best venues over the course of the 12 days.

We are looking for Ireland’s newest and greatest Karaoke singers with that Rock Star edge!

And the Winner is...
aron Gavin came out on top in last night's grand final of the Xbox Songs Of Praise alternative karaoke contest in Dublin's Button Factory.

After several heats in venues and college bars across the city, it all came down to the best of the best, whose every move was scrutinised carefully by judges John McCallion from Warner Music and Hot Press' own Stuart Clark.

Performing The Darkness' 'Get Your Hands Off My Woman', Aaron faced off against James Murphy in the final, who gave an almost-as-stirring rendition of Muse's 'Supermassive Black Hole'.

Aaron walked away with a custom €2,000 Gibson electric guitar, while the winners of each heat bagged themselves a €1,000 Xbox package, including a copy of Guitar Hero III.

The Hot Press Guitar Hero was also crowned on the night, with Sara Ergren being judged the most impressive air guitarist of the bunch!

“Songs of Praise” Irelands favourite karaoke night is taking to the road at the end of the month for eight nights for a college based Rock + Roll Karaoke Contests. Our winning formula will be taking place in Dublin’s major colleges and our home the Village, Wexford St.. All leading to a grand final in the newly opened Button Factory.

Songs of praise has over the last two years become an iconic night out. A place where the genuinely talented and the truly freaky can release their inner rock star and exorcise their demons. Many come simply to watch in awe, among them The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand and Tony Bennet.

Your host on the night will be Barbra McCarthy of RTE’s “Highly Recommended” She will be directing proceedings form the alter!. She will also well be introducing the air guitar game, Guitar hero III both on the stage and in dedicated gaming zones through out the venue.

In-between Karaoke bouts DJ Sinead NiMhordha from Phantom 105.2 will be providing songs of faith and devotion to keep the dance floor rocking.
