hello everyone!
sadly still livin in the vicinity of kirky, but I did get about 5 miles away to kilsyth, hooray!
the majority of the time, no, sorry, ALL my time is took up by my gorgeous little ones Sarah and Leah, but they are very much worth it, look at my pics and I'm sure you'll agree.
Still nursing away just took a new job last month in Gartnavel. Oh and with the odd spare moment I get to remember I'm married too. . . .

loch lomond food festival
on the same line as my last entry, seen as one of my own main interests lately had been food, I have been attempting were possible to buy as much scottish produce as able. not only to enjoy eating food that is local, but to contribute to cutting down the traffic of non-local produce deliveries.
It was therefore a great bonus when staying at loch lomond on saturday that we happened upon the loch lomond food festival.
there were tasting sessions, markets, live cooking demo's from local hotel chefs, and lots of feshly cooked food for buying. we decided due to the extreme heat on saturday, and because the kids were obviously with us, that rather than buy cooked lunch there, to buy lots of nice goodies from the market stall, to take back to the caravan and enjoy our lunch in the shade. among these was the best shrtbread i think ive ever had, which is what sarah spent all her alloted pocket money on!
we finshed our day of lovely food off with dinner at culcruech castle that night, again fantastic scottish food that we well recommend.

reducing my carbon footprint
Ive recently slowly began to modify my lifestyle to be both more consious or recycling/ waste reduction and to be more consious of our carbon footprint as then like to call it.
i have found it amazing how many little changes can make a difference as our electricity use had totally fell, just by making sure were not leaving lights on, not using washer until its full, turning tv off if kids walk away from it, and loads more.
It will be good for the kids to grow up automatically being consious of these things if were doing them hopefully.
Also have sarah being a recycling queen. her nursery is very pro recycling and she really enjoys getting to show us at home how she does it at the nursery.

One thing I will say though is its demorilising to be doing all this when I work for the NHS, who waste god only knows how much recyclable goods. I probably see more waste in one shifts than I can recycle in a week, so it does make your effort feel a little worthless. I empty a box of medicines and feel so bad just putting it into the bin knowing its should be getting recycled.
I plan to figure out who to write to to enquire why there is not a system in place in hospitals.

a wee break
check out my new photos and you'll see us on our wee family trip to centreparcs. theyre not great pics as its very difficult to take pictures while your trying to watch two little children, hence why the pictures usually have to be of one of them!
by some luck we got some amazing weather, well it was all amazing actually.
we then headed to blackpool for a day or so to see sis in law and family, also in pics.
returned on the sunday as my aunt is up from manchester for the week.
was meant to climb ben lomond tomorrow with them, but this week returned to my old staff nurse job so back to working weekends again . . . musnt complain, im part time again, 2 afternoons mid week and double shift every sat (or sun occasionally) and thats all that matters.
and as for the job i know ive made the right decision and im only 27, i'll be sister again one day i hope, but will defo wait till wee ones at school, unless by some miricle a parttime sister job appears one day . . . . . .

im good thanks hows you? liking the pics of the kids very sweet! im on day shift on sat then tue and wed off to the lake district with ray on friday next week so looking foward to that. i keep meaning to pop up when your on and it might be quiet but its been heavy in the 10's of late. enjoying it more now settling in well the staff arte lovely miss you all though xxx ps im always looking for bank!!!

I have no idea what 'sleepwalker' is... but may be a fan already without relising it! I'm working Sunday, but be around Monday maybe for a bit if you're not working? I still have an empty power point file for my presentation tomorrow and just about chewing my arms off in fear.

Hi Kaz, how was your holiday? How's life back on day shift? Work's not too bad for me. I'm quite enjoying being back. Its nice to be able to think about non-mummy things! I do miss him but think it'll do us both good to have some time apart.
So far childcare has not been too much trouble, I only hope it continues. Its just a hassle the night before work trying to think of everything he'll need for the following day and getting it all packed up, while trying to make my own lunch for the next day etc. I guess I'll get used to it.
How are you all? Are the girls well? We're all fine. Finlay is crawling at long last and getting into everything! I was desperate for him to crawl now I'm not so sure its a good thing!!

Hi doll, You're right I'm back at work this weekend. Half of me is looking forward to it and the other half is dreading it! I'll be glad to get this weekend over and done with, as you say once I'm back I'll feel like I've never been away. Struggling a bit with childcare already tho so dont know how long I'll be back for. Have you finished your nights yet? Are you back working with the sensible day shift people yet?
