Too many young people have experienced the terrible effects of knife crime.

The injuries and deaths don’t have to happen but the fact is, if you carry a knife, you are more likely to get stabbed yourself.

This site is for people who want to take positive action against knives.

 

As mentioned last week, we are about to run a national outdoor poster campaign and we want all our friends to get involved. See Blog for more details.

We’re also in the process of creating a special “send to a friend” function that will make it easier for you to spread our message.

Our logo competition winner Hannah Cooper has been working with a creative team at top advertising agency RKCR/Y&R and her design will be revealed next week.

The more people you tell, the stronger we become. Together we can beat knife crime.

Knife Crime Awareness Tour

We’ve heard about a great new anti-knife initiative. The Knife Crime Awareness Tour 2008/09 aims to deliver its message through a series of around 90 concerts over the next year. The shows will feature groups and bands local to each venue alongside more high-profile UK acts. From 3rd November, 40 outdoor posters will appear around the country. Their message is simple – knife crime doesn’t have to happen. The focus of the posters will be on young people showing their support for It Doesn’t Have To Happen. Battlefront: Alexander Rose

I'm working on a new Channel 4 Project called Battlefront all about young people campaigning to get themselves heard about issues they really care about.

One of our campaigners is Alexander Rose from South London. He wants to put an end to Gun and Knife crime and so he's running a campaign called STOP (Solve This Ongoing Problem).

thanks to everyone who has continued to post on this page it is a terrible thing to have to go through or a family to go thru pain i hav read sum of the stories left and they are sickening the person who sed bring bak death sentence i agreee wit you the death penalty shud be brought bak as a deterrent but willl it deter those who are carrying knives wit them???? my guess is no they will always be carried by someone somewhere there shud be justice of those whose lives hav bin taken

well done to the makers of this! Dec 2002 my brother was stabbed to death..this is his story........

28th Dec 2002 my brother Sam was walking thru town and was confronted by a man much older than him..they exchanged a few words and then my brother (who was only just 16 at the time) tried to dodge him to get past and the "man" plunged a 12" kitchen knife in to sam's side. Sam tried to run to get away and fell to the ground just metres away. The "man" did 12months in jail awaiting the court case, and was found not guilty, so he walked free. just walked free after killing a 16 year old boy. Wise up people and don't be weak by carrying a knife. Don't let another family go thru wot we've been thru...

NOT KNOWING THAT IS WOULD BE THE LAST TIME WE WOULD SEE HIM ALIVE AS HE HEADED HOME NOT KNOWING THAT FINAL 200 YARDS THAT HE DID NOT KNOW THAT HIS LIFE WAS GOING TO BE TAKEN SO "SAVAGELY " AS HE WALKED PAST ALLEN DEWER "THE STEET RAT" PUT HIS LEFT ARM ROUND JOSHUAS SHOULDER AND PRENDED TO GET THE BANTER WITH HIM KNOWING THAT JOSHUA WAS NOT A FIGHTER AND TOLD HIM THAT HE WAS GOING TO STAB HIM JOSHUA SAID "WHAT" AND BEFOR JOSHUA KNEW WHAT HAPPEND "THE STEETRAT PLUNGED A KNIFE INTO HIS HART" . JOSHUA FELL BACK WITH BLOOD PUMPING OUT OFF HIM AND "THE STEETRAT" STOOD AND LIT A FAG. so on the 30 july "THE STREET RAT gets life ? is 13 yrs life !!!!!!!!!!!!

im onlч 13 but what i saw done to him has scared me for lчf.

me and josh were walking frew hampstead high street
and saw a gang on the corner i recignised some of the people and said heloo but as we walked past one boч shouted at me a pure nastч name so josh stopped and asked what the boчs problem was,the boч stepped forward and before josh could saч enifink he was on the floor bleeding to death
he had been stabbed 7 tчmes in the chest ) =
he died in mч arms and the tчm the ambulance had got to him
he had alreadч passed away and he was onlч 14 ??
so what is the point of knife and gun crime cuz when one person dies
all there family,friends and loved ones die with the insчde !
